War 2 Advance Booking Begins with ₹2 Crore+ Collection Across India. Hrithik Roshan took to social media on Sunday to announce that War 2 advance bookings are now open across India. In just a day, the film has already raked in over ₹2 crore, despite facing challenges such as limited Telugu screenings. Set for release on Thursday, August 14, the action-packed sequel is already generating massive buzz among fans nationwide.

Trade Experts Predict Blockbuster Success for War 2

According to Sacnilk.com, by 9 pm on Sunday, War 2 had amassed ₹2.24 crore in advance bookings. The tally includes around 9,000 shows in Hindi across formats like 2D, IMAX, DOLBY, and 4DX, along with 100 shows in Tamil and 115 in Telugu. The Telugu show count is surprisingly low, despite War 2 featuring Telugu superstar Jr NTR in a lead role.

While the advance booking numbers are encouraging, War 2 will face stiff competition at the box office from Rajinikanth’s highly anticipated Coolie, which is set to release on the same day. The Sacnilk report also noted that including ‘block seats,’ War 2’s advance booking value rises to nearly ₹7.6 crore. These block seats are typically held by theatres for spot bookings or allocated to studios for special schemes and in-house promotions.

YRF Opens War 2 Advance Booking with Fiery Announcement

Yash Raj Films kicked off War 2’s advance booking on Sunday with a high-energy promotional video. Sharing the update on Instagram, the studio hyped up War 2’s release, urging fans to “witness the CARNAGE” starting August 14. They encouraged viewers to book their tickets early to experience the film’s high-octane action on the big screen.

Promising an unforgettable cinematic experience, the film is set for a grand worldwide release in Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil. The post instantly amped up excitement among fans eager for the film’s grand release. Earlier last week, War 2’s international advance booking began, but the response was lukewarm.

While the Telugu version picked up some momentum a day after US pre-sales opened, the Hindi version struggled to attract buyers. Data from major ticketing platforms revealed that many large theatres screening the Hindi release for Wednesday premieres hadn’t sold a single ticket.

Trade sources reported that YRF plans to release the Hindi version in 900 US screens for paid previews, yet by Sunday morning, only around 1,600 tickets had been sold, leaving numerous auditoriums nearly empty.

All You Need to Know About War 2

In War 2, Hrithik Roshan reprises his role as rogue R&AW agent Kabir, this time pitted against a formidable new villain portrayed by Jr NTR. The film also introduces a fresh romantic angle, with Kiara Advani replacing Vaani Kapoor as the leading lady.

Sharing his experience of working with Jr NTR for the first time, Hrithik Roshan said, “I see a lot of myself in Tarak. He reflected on their 25-year parallel journeys, noting that Tarak likely sees a part of himself in him as well.

It is true when they say that he is a one-take final-take star. On set, Tarak, I have not just observed you, but I have learnt from you — how to go into a shot 100%, not 99.99% or 99.999%, but fully.

That’s why, when he comes out of a shot, there’s no judgement; he won’t even check the monitor because he knows he’s given it his all. He affirmed that he would incorporate the insight into his future films. Tarak, thank you for teaching me that.”

Directed by Ayan Mukerji, War 2 is the newest installment in the YRF Spy Universe, following the Tiger films with Salman Khan, War with Hrithik Roshan, and Pathaan starring Shah Rukh Khan. The franchise is set to expand with Alpha, starring Alia Bhatt and Sharvari.
