Actress Shilpa Shirodkar, renowned for her roles in both film and television, recently spoke about the deep bond she shares with her sister, Namrata Shirodkar, and her brother-in-law, Telugu superstar Mahesh Babu. Over the years, the sisters have grown closer, with Shilpa noting that shared life experiences and time have strengthened their relationship.

She revealed how their relationship grew stronger over time, especially after key turning points in their lives. Though Namrata is older by two years, Shilpa shared how life unfolded differently for them—she began working earlier, got married first, and became a mother before her sister, often giving the impression that she is the elder sibling.

And even more so following the passing of their parents. “I became her child,” Shilpa said, noting how Namrata now worries about her constantly—sometimes even more than she does for her own children, including Anushka.
Shilpa Shirodkar shared how her bond with Namrata Shirodkar has evolved from being just sisters to becoming each other’s closest confidantes. “I know she’s always there for me, come what may. She’s also my friend now,” Shilpa said, expressing how she can confide in Namrata about anything.
While she jokingly admitted that Namrata has an opinion on everything—which can sometimes be annoying—she’s learned to take it in stride with humor. Shilpa on handling Namrata’s opinions: “I just laugh and talk to her.”

“Mahesh, to me, is my brother-in-law and one of the finest human beings I know in this world. He stands by family rock solid,” she said, praising his unwavering support. Shilpa also touched on the shared grief within their family, noting that Mahesh, like herself and Namrata, has endured significant personal losses in a short span of time.
“It’s not easy for a man to stand by a woman who has gone through so much emotionally and mentally,” she reflected. “But our men have done everything for us. Mahesh has gone through a lot, losing his family, and you need to show up for your people.” Her words painted a portrait of a deeply bonded family held together by mutual respect, resilience, and unconditional love.
