According to his elder brother Vijay Yadav, Deepak has been repeatedly saying he wants “to be hanged” for his crime.

Condemning the incident, Vijay Yadav told The Indian Express that his brother Deepak admitted to committing “kanya vadh” and expressed a strong desire to be hanged.

“He told the police to write the FIR in such a way that he gets the death penalty,” Vijay revealed, calling the act deeply wrong and tragic.

A Gurugram court on Saturday remanded Deepak Yadav to 14 days of judicial custody for allegedly shooting dead his 25-year-old daughter, Radhika Yadav. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over her tennis academy in Sector 57.

Radhika Yadav was cremated in Gurugram on July 11 after a post-mortem confirmed she had suffered multiple gunshot wounds, according to an ANI report.

As the investigation continues, police have stated that no additional individuals are being summoned for questioning at this stage. The Indian Express reported that the case is currently focused on the primary accused.

Music video angle under police scrutiny in Radhika Yadav case

Gurugram Public Relations Officer Sandeep Kumar confirmed on Friday that Radhika Yadav, a state-level tennis player, was shot dead by her father, Deepak Yadav. The incident reportedly stemmed from a dispute over her decision to run a tennis academy, which her father opposed.

‘Hang me for killing my daughter’: Speaking to ANI, Kumar stated that Deepak, who runs a rental property business, was reportedly unhappy with his daughter working, arguing that their financially stable background made it unnecessary for her to pursue a professional career.

Kumar further stated that Radhika’s refusal to shut down her tennis academy, despite repeated objections from her father, led to escalating tensions. In a fit of rage, Deepak Yadav allegedly used his licensed firearm to shoot and kill his daughter.

Police are also looking into a music video in which Radhika Yadav had featured, as part of the ongoing investigation. Sources claim her father had asked her to delete the video from her social media accounts.

However, officials have found no direct link between the video and her murder. Inam-ul-Haq denies involvement in Radhika Yadav case, says contact ended after shoot.

Inam-ul-Haq says he met Radhika Yadav during Tennis Premier League, later for music video.“ She was just an actor to me,” he said, adding that the video shoot was unpaid and she was only given a small good luck amount.

He emphasized that there was no contact between them after the shoot, distancing himself from any involvement in the incident.
